Phoenix Suns Reportedly Prefer Ja Morant Over Zion Williamson

Last year, the Phoenix Suns had the first pick in the 2018 NBA Draft. While their selection, DeAndre Ayton definitely will become a great NBA player, it seems as if they missed out on a generational talent in Luka Doncic.

Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me! This could be this year’s draft motto if the Suns were to pick first again.

Just yesterday, Jerry West, not only one of the greatest players, but also one of the greatest executives of all time, said that passing on Zion Williamson was like not drafting Michael Jordan. *In come the Phoenix Suns.

According to Sam Vecenie of The Athletic, sources around the NBA state that the Suns would select Ja Morant over Zion Williamson. General manager James Jones apparently is a huge fan of Morant, who plays at the point guard position, a position the Suns are in desperate need of help at. So it could very well be that the Suns will miss out on the next generational talent in Zion Williamson.
