Potential Post-Buyout Suitors For Andre Drummond And LaMarcus Aldridge

Following the NBA Trade Deadline, and the Cleveland Cavaliers and the San Antonio Spurs’ inability to find any trade partners, it has been announced that the Spurs and LaMarcus Aldridge have reached a buyout agreement, while Andre Drummond and the Cavaliers are working on one, too.

Drummond hasn’t played in weeks, because he isn’t in the Cavs’ future plans, due to them relying on young Center Jarrett Allen. According to Chris Haynes, Drummond has 5 potential suitors and will entertain meetings with the Los Aangeles Lakers, Los Angeles Clippers, New York Knicks, Boston Celtics, and Charlotte Hornets. He is looking for the right fit. These five teams will pitch Drummond once the buyout is officially completed.

Aldridge has been bought out by the Spurs, as they elect to move forward with young Center Jakob Poeltl. Aldridge therefore can decide which team he would like to sign with. Haynes reports that LaMarcus will reportedly take meetings with the Miami Heat, Brooklyn Nets, Los Angeles Lakers, and Los Angeles Clippers, before finalizing a decision. It is believed that the Heat are the front-runners and Aldridge’s preferred location.

Furthermore, Haynes believes that these moves can “change the landscape of the league and of the standings” and can be “bigger than any other move that has happened on trade deadline day”. It will definitely be interesting to see where they both end up.
