Raja Bell Rips Paul George For Opening Up About His Anxiety And Depression: “Keep It To Yourself’

Retired NBA player Raja Bell who now works as a media personality took his time to discuss the Mavericks-Clippers Game 5, and one of the main points he covered was George revealing to the media that he was in a ‘dark place’ in referral to his situation during his shooting slump in the first-round series against the Mavericks.

Apparently, Bell wasn’t a fan of George’s decision to open up that he was dealing with his anxiety and depression inside the bubble. During an appearance on ‘The Ringer NBA Show’, Ball threw this out of the window and insisted that George should’ve kept it to himself instead.

“Keep that shit to yourself, nobody wants to hear that. Nobody wants to hear Paul George is checked out. He’s the second best player on the team.”

“Nobody wants to hear that. Again, we wanna hear your candid, vulnerability; everyone wants to know that. Keep that shit to yourself.” Bell exclaimed.

Speaking about mental health is becoming more popular in the NBA. This has become an eye-opener that athletes are human-beings like everyone else too, and are vulnerable to such issues despite their higher socioeconomic status.

George joined players like Kevin Love and DeMar DeRozan who both previously spoke out about suffering from depression. In contrast to Raja Bell, other people consider this commendable as this is an attempt to raise awareness and break the stigma around mental health issues.
