Rajon Rondo On His Way Out Of Chicago?

Chicago Bulls point guard Rajon Rondo will meet with the team’s general manager Gar Forman to discuss his future with the Bulls.

Rondo did not see one second of action during Saturday night’s clash against the Milwaukee Bucks at United Center. Chicago Bulls head coach Fred Hoiberg sat Rondo for the whole second half against the Indiana Pacers on Friday as well.

Third-year-guard Michael Carter-Williams got promoted to the starting line up, and Jerian Grant will be his backup. Rajon Rondo is currently looked at as the third string point guard for the Chicago Bulls.

“Gar [Forman] and I will talk,” Rondo said. “We’re going to talk and we’ll go from there.”

Should Chicago keep Rondo on the bench until they find him a new home? His talk with Bulls management will be crucial in his fate with the team.

“It’s been a tough season for us right now,” Rondo admitted. “It’s been ups and downs. Certain buttons are being pushed. The Bulls are trying to figure things out.”

Coach Hoiberg praised Rondo with saying that he had acted professionally during all of this.

“We’ll continue to evaluate it, see what direction we go,” Hoiberg said. “He was great over there on the bench, cheering for guys, and being professional. We’ll see how it plays out and we’ll evaluate it again before the next one.”

Looking at how Rondo has acted during this dilemma is odd. Though he is not getting playing time, he is still supportive of his team like a true professional. But, these actions may not last as the time goes on.

It’ll be very interesting to see where Rajon Rondo ends up before the February 23, 2017 trade deadline.
