Richard Jefferson Suggests LeBron James Would Go No.2 Overall Pick If He Was In The Same Draft Class As Victor Wembanyama

Everyone has heard just enough how French standout Victor Wembanyama is the favorite to become the No.1 overall pick of the 2023 NBA Draft.

Standing at 7-foot-4, Wembanyama has often been labelled a unicorn due to his blend of skills and size. He can drill shots from the perimeter, can handle the ball, and is a fearsome shot-blocker. He’s also very coordinated and quick for his size which can be just too much for his opponent to handle.

Jumping out as a can’t-miss generational talent, many have been lining Wembanyama up to the likes of LeBron James, who entered the league straight out of high school and was arguably the most hyped prospect of all-time.

Former Cleveland Cavaliers forward Richard Jefferson now gave a strong stance on Wembanyama being one of the most anticipated prospects entering the NBA. According to Jefferson, even LeBron would go No.2 if he was coming in the same draft class as the 18-year old French prospect.

“He is the best prospect we’ve seen since LeBron James. If LeBron James at that exact moment showed up, Victor would go higher than him… LeBron James would be number two if he was the exact same age coming in the exact same draft, that’s how crazy this kid is as a prospect.”
