Robert Horry Likens Karl Anthony Towns And Anthony Edwards To Shaquille O’Neal And Kobe Bryant

The NBA has had more than a fair share of dominant duos throughout the league history, and one of the most popular ones was the Shaquille O’Neal and Kobe Bryant one-two punch back in the early 2000s.

Kobe and Shaq dominated the league like few before them, forming one of the greatest dynasties on the Los Angeles Lakers. Although their pairing was cut short due to ego and other personal reasons, Kobe and Shaq still began a dominant run and managed to win three championships along the way.

Over the years, there have been a few pairings in the NBA that have drawn comparisons to the duo of Shaq and Kobe, and the most recent one being Karl Anthony Towns and Anthony Edwards of the Minnesota Timberwolves who mainly received the intriguing comparison from former Lakers champion Robert Horry.

“If you look at this duo, it is a miniature Shaq and Kobe. When you play with a guard and a big on the team, you make each other better. So Edwards learns how to play the game and become a better ball-handler and an outside shooter. And KAT can understand he is bigger than most guys and take them down to the post. When that is not working, step on outside and shoot a three,”
