Ron Artest Once Auditioned For Sneaker Deal At The All-Star Game By Wearing Different Shoes On Each Foot

The man with the many names, Metta Sandiford-Artest, formerly known as Ron Artest, has had a great NBA career. He’s been an NBA Champion, an All-Star, a member of an All-NBA Team and 4 All-NBA Defensive teams.

But Artest also has always been one of the league’s most controversial players, and still owns the record for the longest suspension for an on-court incident in NBA history.

One of the funniest Artest stories came from the 2004 NBA All-Star Game. During his first and only All-Star appearance, Ron Artest, who did not have a sneaker endorsement deal with a brand, used the spotlight to audition for exactly such deal.

Artest wore separate brands of shoes on each feet throughout the game, including Nike, Adidas, And1 and Dada.

Artest eventually signed with K1X in 2005, and, later in his career while playing in China, with Peak.
