Rookie Gilbert Arenas Was Fanboying Over Kobe Bryant Throwing A Jab At Him

Gilbert Arenas not only was an amazing basketball player, but also one of the most entertaining people in the NBA circus.

He was a three time All-Star and member of three All NBA Teams. In his second year in the league, Arenas won the league’s Most Improved Player Award, and was a matchup nightmare during his prime.

But before his rise to stardom, in his rookie season, Gil’ was often coming off the bench. Him being a bench player was used by Kobe Bryant as an attempt to throw a little jab at Agent 0. But instead of being mad, Arenas was fanboying over the fact that Kobe knew who he was.

“I remember I’m in Golden State, and my boy hits me up and he’s like ‘yo! I’ve just seen Kobe at Disney Land, and I told him ‘my boy is going to kick your ass when y’all play’. Kobe was like ‘what’s your boy’s name?’ Gilbert Arenas! And he was like, dead in my face, he said: ‘well, if he ever gets off the bench,’ and kept walking.’

And my response was like ‘so he knows who I am? HE KNOWS?!'”
