Rui Hachimura Got Kicked In His Nuts So Hard, He Had To Have Surgery

When the Washington Wizards decided to select Rui Hachimura with their 9th pick in this year’s NBA Draft, Hachimura became the first Japanese player ever taken in the first round.

Ever since, Rui has become a global ambassador of the game, not least to some impressive performances in his first NBA season.

The 21-year old rookie is averaging 13.9 points on very respectable 48.2% from the field and 85.2% from the line, and has had some great games.

In the last few games though, Hachimura wasn’t able to play due to a groin injury. An injury that likely correlates with being kicked in his testicles.

Redditor ragtime_sam put one and one together and came to the conclusion that Hachimura unfortunately got kicked in the balls so hard, that he had to have surgery.

Two weeks ago, in a game against the Detroit Pistons, Rui got hit in his private parts by his own teammate, Isaac Bonga.

After the hit, Rui had to leave the game and hasn’t played ever since. The Wizards then announced that Hachimura will have to have a procedure on his “groin” and would be out for a couple of games.

That does sound not pretty and likely was a testicular torsion. But just like the Redditor stated, in this meme driven world we live in, it is quite strange that not more people are talking about this.

Unlike previous reports stated, Hachimura isn’t close to returning, and will be out for several more weeks.
