Shannon Sharpe Identifies Miami Heat As A Possible Trade Destination For KD: “Pat Riley’s Always Wanted Kevin Durant”

All eyes are focused on the Brooklyn Nets after recent reports suggested that two-time MVP Kevin Durant is monitoring the situation and considering options with his future, as teammate Kyrie Irving continues to face uncertainty with his contract extension with the Nets.

A number of fans and basketball pundits alike speculate that Durant could the first big domino to fall if Irving decides to leave the team in the immediate future. Should Durant ask to be traded out of the franchise, NBA analyst Shannon Sharpe thinks the Miami Heat could be a team in play for the 33-year old Nets star.

There’s no debating Durant’s capability as a primary scorer and his fit alongside other All-Star caliber players, but Shannon Sharpe thinks the question lies upon Pat Riley’s willingness to give up a hefty price to lure the former league MVP.

“You know Pat Riley is looking to make a major splash. He’s always wanted Kevin Durant, Skip. Now he thought he had a good chance to get him a couple of years ago,” Sharpe said. “Don’t think he won’t spin the block one more time. …The question is what would he (Riley) be willing to give up in order to get him. I believe the only two players that would probably be off-limits is Jimmy and Bam. Because with Jimmy, Bam, and Kevin Durant, you have a potential of an arms race now.”
