Shaquille O’Neal Believes Patrick Beverley Will Help Russell Westbrook Recover His Best Level Of Basketball

It’s no secret that Patrick Beverley and Russell Westbrook have had one of the most contentious beefs in the NBA dating back to the 2013 playoffs, so the Los Angeles Lakers got everyone shook when they made a move to acquire Beverley from the Utah Jazz earlier this offseason.

There were questions whether Westbrook and Beverley could get along with each other after years of animosity, but it appears that both players are now on the same page, with Beverley even admitting that Westbrook has been his best friend since joining the team.

Speaking of their partnership, former Lakers big man Shaquille O’Neal is optimistic that the 34-year old defensive guard is going to help Westbrook get back close to playing his best level of basketball after his struggles last season.

“Pat Bev is gonna help Russ get back close to the level that he was at ’cause he’s gonna hold him accountable. When you shoot off the side of the backboard, someone needs to get you, ‘Look, hey man, what you doin’?’”
