Steve Kerr Compares The Dallas Mavericks To James Harden’s Houston Rockets
The Dallas Mavericks bested the Phoenix Suns in Game 7 of their second-round playoff series to advance to the Western Conference Finals where they will face off with the Golden State Warriors.
Very few people expected the Mavs to pull off the victory as they started the series down 0-2 against the top-seeded Suns team. However, the Mavs showed a ton of firepower and managed to push through, avoiding elimination in three consecutive games from Game 5 to Game 7.
Luka Doncic led the way for the Mavericks and averaged 32.6 points, 9.9 rebounds and 7.0 assists per game on 47.6% shooting from the field. Jalen Brunson and Spencer Dinwiddie have also impressed with 18.7 points and 11.4 points, respectively.
Heading into the Western Conference Finals, Warriors head coach Steve Kerr made some comments about their upcoming opponent. According to Kerr, the Mavericks bear a striking resemblance to James Harden’s Houston Rockets team from a few years ago.
“I think the Dallas team is very similar to Houston from a few years ago with the five-out spacing, five shooters on the court,” Kerr said. “This team has three playmakers with [Jalen] Brunson and [Spencer] Dinwiddie along with Doncic.”
“Obviously, Doncic is a tremendous player and can beat you in a lot of different ways and really smart – very similar to Harden in that regard,” Kerr said. “We have a big challenge.”
