Steve Kerr on LaVar Ball’s Bragging Nature: ‘I Don’t Think it’s Helping His Kids’

Tally Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr as another notable basketball figure who has commented on LaVar Ball’s over-the-top blabber to bring notoriety to his name.

The man who claims he would have “killed” Michael Jordan in a one-on-one back in the day has also taken jabs at Stephen Curry, LeBron James, and Charles Barkley recently. Obviously, LaVar—whose son, Lonzo Ball is an NBA-bound UCLA star—is doing it for publicity and to further his family name in the public.

Steve Kerr feels LaVar’s comments are hurting his children’s future, but admits it’s none of his business.

“The fact that everybody keeps talking about him, he seems to be accomplishing whatever he’s trying to accomplish, because the things he says are so outlandish. But he keeps getting headlines, and I guess that’s what he wants,” Kerr said.

“I don’t think it’s helping his kids. I think it’d be better for them if they can just play and have fun and not have to hear that every day, but whatever. It’s all part of him.”

Lonzo Ball claims his father has been doing this for years. Whether it’s bragging about he or his brothers LaMelo and LiAngelo, LaVar will never change according to his son.

”He’s been like that my whole life. It’s nothing new to me,” he said. ”He’s got a camera in front of his face now so y’all are seeing it for the first time. He’s never going to change for the cameras. He’s been the same his whole life.”

It should be interesting to see if NBA General Manager’s decisions to draft Lonzo Ball will change because of his father.
