Steve Kerr Reveals Why It’s Important For Stephen Curry To Return Despite Warriors Not Playing For Anything Anymore

On October 30, Stephen Curry broke his left hand when Aron Baynes fell on him after trying to draw a charge. Curry now has been cleared for contact and is targeting March 1 for his return to the floor.

Since the Warriors aren’t playing for anything anymore this season, many fans and people around the league suggest to sit him out the entire season, and play it safe. Curry’s head coach, Steve Kerr, though revealed why he believes it is important for Steph to make his comeback this season, even though the team won’t reach the playoffs. Per ESPN:

“He got an ovation today when I told the group he was going to scrimmage with us. Everybody was excited. It will be good for our young guys to feel what it’s like to play with him and vice versa. Steph needs to get to know these guys, too … it’s a big part of the final third of the season is everybody playing together, acclimating together, with the trade for Andrew [Wiggins], the young guys, Steph coming back, these games matter.”
