The Golden State Warriors Have The Best Shot To Dethrone The Los Angeles Lakers, Per Stephen A. Smith

The Golden State Warriors experienced a handful of blows with injuries of both their backcourt All-Stars, Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson, as well as the departure of Kevin Durant towards Brooklyn in free agency. This is why they ended their season with an abysmal 15-50 NBA record which fails in comparison to their previous NBA seasons.

But as the squad had some couple of months off to fully recover, while at the same time adding a 20PPG scorer in Andrew Wiggins and the number two pick in the NBA Draft, the Warriors are expected to wreak havoc in the NBA once again.

Granted it’s no secret that the Warriors will return as a top-tier team in the NBA, but the key question is — do the Warriors have what it takes to win the West and dethrone the Los Angeles Lakers led by LeBron James and Anthony Davis? NBA analyst Stephen A. Smith thinks they do.

“In terms of the direct question, ‘Who has the best shot to knock off the Lakers?’, it would be the Golden State Warriors. For a simple reason, it doesn’t need to be complicated like some people might try to make it.

“They have the greatest shooting backcourt known to man. There has never been anybody, backcourt in NBA history that can shoot like these brothers, Steph Curry and Klay Thompson.”
