Video Of Montrezl Harrell Traffic Stop Shows It Actually Ending Up Being More Of An NBA Press Conference

Earlier this year,, Montrezl Harrell was facing felony drug charges after he was pulled over in Richmond, Kentucky during a traffic stop last month and was admitted to being in possession of three pounds of vacuum-sealed marijuana in his car.

The Charlotte Hornets big man was pulled over on May 12 for driving behind a vehicle too closely. The incident then led to thorough search after a Kentucky state trooper said that he smelled marijuana from the silver 2020 Honda Pilot that Harrell was driving.

Harrell was charged with trafficking less than five pounds of marijuana, classified as a Class D felony for a first-time offender, and cut a plea with prosecutors last month that reduced the charge to a simple marijuana possession.

Now, body cam footage of the traffic stop were releases and they show Harrell and the cops talk for over half an hour about all kinds of NBA topics. It ended up being more of a press conference than an actual traffic stop, with police asking about LaMelo Ball, the best player Harrell had to play against and the worst locker room in the NBA.

Harrell still is a free agent and hasn’t found a team for the coming season yet. Last season, the big man averaged 11.4 points, 4.9 rebounds and 2.0 assists per game on 64.5% shooting from the field in 25 games for the Hornets.
