Vince Carter Reexamines Chris Paul’s Place On The Top 5 Point Guards Of All-Time List: “It’s So Tough”

Although Chris Paul hasn’t won a championship yet, the way he made all his teams better speaks volumes about how great of a player he is. Even at age 35 today, Paul’s impact on the Phoenix Suns has been evident from the moment he arrived to the team.

This year, he has helped propel the Suns to the second seed in the Western Conference while putting up 15.9 points, 8.8 assists and 1.4 steals per game on 48.7% shooting. He has also earned his 11th All-Star selection earlier this season and just recently passed Magic Johnson for 5th on the all-time assist leader.

As Paul continues to do wonders late in his career, Vince Carter, who appeared on ESPN’s ‘The Jump’, tried to reexamine Chris Paul’s place on the top 5 point guards of all-time list.

“It’s so tough. If he’s not in the top five, he’s on the way. He’s making a case for it right now. He’s 35-36 and what he’s done. Some people say he’s reinvented himself. I think he’s just gotten new life and fresh air. I mean, he likes the talent, he has a lot of talent around him. You out the right talent around CP3. You have shooters, you have defenders, and then he’s going out there and he’s still scoring and being Chris Paul that we’ve known and loved.”

“It’s hard to say who’s in the top five in my opinion. I’d like to wait till it’s all said and done. I think when it’s all said and done and he’s done playing, he’ll be right there.”
