Wade & Anthony Possibly Joining Cavs If Bought Out Of Their Contracts

NBA superstars Chris Paul, LeBron James, Carmelo Anthony and Dwyane Wade are not only colleagues, but also best friends. They go on vacations together, they talk as often as possible, and they always had the dream of playing together. James once told the media:

“I really hope that, before our career is over, we can all play together. At least one, maybe one or two seasons—me, Melo, D-Wade, CP—we can get a year in. I would actually take a pay cut to do that. It would be pretty cool. I’ve definitely had thoughts about it.”

While signing Chris Paul this year is near impossible, it could become reality for the other three superfriends members to become teammates.

Dwyane Wade has just opted into his $24 million player option with the Chicago Bulls, but after the Jimmy Butler trade, it is obvious that they are trying to rebuild. According to various reports, the Bulls are going to trade or buy out Rajon Rondo in the next couple of weeks. Wade could also ask the Bulls to buy him out as well. That’s where Cleveland would come into play.

We know that Phil Jackson would prefer to get rid of Carmelo Anthony before the start of the new season. Melo is still on his big contract with the Knicks and has a no-trade clause in his contract, which he does not try to get rid of anytime soon, unless it would be the perfect situation for him on a new team. That also leaves Jackson with basically one possibility to get rid of his star player – buying him out. Once that happens, Carmelo most likely would be Cleveland bound as well.

While none of the players have been bought out (yet), it does not seem too unlikely that they will be, in the next couple of weeks. Then Cleveland’s new GM (?!) has weeks-worth of work to get done in no-time.
