Warriors Part-Owner Chamath Palihapitiya Says ‘Nobody Cares About Uyghur Genocide’

Enes Kanter Freedom is certainly not someone who’s afraid to question and call anyone out when it comes to social issues, and he has shown in recent years.

Since the start of this season, Kanter went at China, saying China’s leader Xi Jinping was a brutal dictator committing cultural genocide, while drawing attention to the human rights abuses suffered by the Uyghur people and other Muslim minorities.

Kanter then a swipe at LeBron James for failing to speak up on matters involving Nike and China, he called out Michael Jordan for being absent in helping the Black community, and also criticized Jeremy Lin, Joe Tsai and many others.

It’s safe to say that Kanter soon will take a massive swing at Golden State Warriors part-owner Chamath Palihapitiya. Palihapitiya recently said on a podcast that ‘nobody cares’ about the Uyghur genocide in China, in a shocking take.

“I’m telling you a very hard ugly truth. Of all the things that I care about, it is below my line…

You bring it up because you really care, and I think that’s nice that you care, the rest of us don’t care.”

The Golden State Warriors, in the meantime, distanced themselves from their minority stakeholder.

“As a limited investor who has no day-to-day operating functions with the Warriors, Mr. Palihapitiya does not speak on behalf of our franchise, and his views certainly don’t reflect those of our organization,”
