Wayne Ellington Sounds Off On Klay Thompson And Draymond Green: “Fake Tough Guy Stuff”

Klay Thompson and Draymond Green had a lot to say to Detroit Pistons shooting guard Rodney McGruder after McGruder confronted their bench and exchanged words with Juan Toscano-Anderson right at the end of their game last Saturday.

Both players took some time to roast the Pistons shooting guard in two different interviews. Klay couldn’t help but to humiliate McGruder and his career, while Draymond mostly questioned McGruder’s toughness.

Their comments quickly went viral, eventually reaching McGruder’s teammate, Wayne Ellington. As expected, Ellington defended his teammate and put up a strong statement against the two Warriors players.

“First of all, I think it’s very unprofessional and definitely not classy for somebody to attack Rodney’s professional career the way it was attacked,” Ellington told reporters Sunday (h/t Detroit News/Rod Beard).

“To be honest, the guy over there, Juan, is the one who started the whole thing. Rod is a man of respect, like myself, and I felt like he took offense to whatever the guy was saying to me in the first half.

“For Draymond to sit up there and talk all that kind of crazy stuff behind a microphone, I think that’s the fake tough-guy stuff, to be honest with you.”
