When A Fan Dressed As Ref Blew A Whistle & Gave The Utah Jazz An Easy Dunk

 

This is one of the weirdest, yet funniest things that ever happened in the NBA.

In 2009, during a game between the Utah Jazz and Golden State Warriors, a fan caused a lot of confusion.

Mehmet Okur stripped the ball from Ronny Turiaf, when a whistle was blown, stopping the play… at least that’s what everybody thought.

A couple of seconds later, players realized that no referee blew the whistle and the game continued with Kyle Korver streaking down the court for an easy dunk.

It then turned out that a fan in the stands, behind Golden State’s basket, had blown the whistle. But they didn’t have any trouble figuring out who it was, as the fan was wearing a referee uniform…
