When Michael Jordan Had A Teammate Traded For Trash-Talking Him In Practice

Michael Jordan not only was arguably the greatest player of all-time, but also one of the game’s best and biggest trash-talkers and intimidators.

More so, Jordan always was playing best when an opponent trash-talked him. Many famous players made said mistake and had to pay for it – among them stars like Gary Payton, Kevin Garnett, Magic Johnson and Reggie Miller.

But one player had to pay for it the most, and the story hadn’t even surfaced until last year. Jordan’s former Washington Wizards teammate Richard ‘Rip’ Hamilton was guest on the All The Smoke podcast and revealed that Laron Profit once trash-talked Jordan in practice which lead to him getting traded to the Orlando Magic.

“I remember one time, we were playing in practice, and Prof [Laron Profit] hit a shot on MJ and he was like running down the court ‘yeah you can’t guard me with them old-ass knees!’

And I’m like ‘oh! Stop! Time-out! You don’t say that to the GOAT.’ MJ was heated. I mean he was heated to the point that when I went to my exit-meeting, cause you know he was the president at the time, he was like ‘ok Rip, your man, your buddy…’ cause he ended up trading Prof that summer ‘he’s out of here! You gon’ be there by yourself….’

I was like ‘M, I don’t want no problems.”
