Why The Warriors Should Not Trade Klay Thompson For Giannis Antetokounmpo, Per Chris Mullin

The league may be in the early stages of the 2020 NBA playoffs, but basketball pundits already can’t wait to see what’s next for some teams and stars in the league once the season concluded. One player on the radar is MVP frontrunner Giannis Antetokounmpo.

As rumors continue to surface, it is widely-believed that a failed playoff run this year could swing Antetokounmpo from the Milwaukee Bucks in the off-season, thus opening up the window for a team like the Golden State Warriors to offer a deal that the Bucks couldn’t hesitate of taking.

There has been an ample of speculation that the Warriors could mix sharpshooter Klay Thompson into a deal that would bring ‘The Greak Freek’ to the Bay Area. While some fans may agree on that, Warriors legend Chris Mullin made his case as to why the Warriors shouldn’t pull that trigger.

“No, because then you have to go looking for shooting again,” Mullin said on the Runnin’ Plays podcast when asked if the Warriors should trade Thompson for Antetokounmpo.

The Warriors are primed to be the biggest threat to the Bucks in this ‘Giannis sweepstakes’. However, everything is premature at this point. The Warriors have a lot of time to think of options, whereas the Bucks are only focused on racking up wins in this year’s playoffs.
