Will Barton Thinks Nikola Jokic Could Become The Best Player In The World If He Wants To

Nikola Jokic has been on an absolute tear this year, averaging a triple-double with 24.1 points, 11.7 rebounds and 11.9 assists per game over his past seven games.

On Tuesday, Jokic came out hungry and dropped 35 points, 15 rebounds and 6 assists on 60% shooting to lead the Nuggets to a victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves.

There’s a compelling argument that through seven games, Nikola Jokic is not only playing like he’s the best center in the NBA, but also like the best player in the world. To whatever extent, that should come as no surprise to his teammates, specifically Will Barton.

After their win against the Timberwolves, Barton spoke to reporters and shared how he motivates the Nuggets big man every game, telling him that he could become the best player in the NBA if he wants to.

“Go out there and win MVP… You could be the best player in the world if you want to. It’s all up to him.”
