Will Klay Thompson Make His Comeback This Season After All?

In Game 6 of last year’s NBA Finals, Klay Thompson suffered a torn ACL in his left knee. A torn ACL is one of the worst possible injures for a professional basketball player.

Moments after he was injured, Jonas Jerebko and Jordan Bell started to help him to the locker room, but when Klay was halfway there, he turned around and headed back to the floor to show his free throws.

While many players lose more than an entire season to an ACL injury, Thompson seems to be recovering quicker and had already been walking without a limp one month after his ACL surgery.

But with the Warriors not playing for anything this year, it seemed that they wouldn’t risk anything and let him sit out the entire season.

But in an interview with ABC’s Lisa Salters, Warriors president of basketball operations, Bob Myers, now revealed that Thompson might come back this season after all.

The sharp-shooter is expected to be re-evaluated during the All-Star break. When asked about a possible comeback, Myers said:

“I think there’s a chance. We’re going to have an update probably around All-Star break. But like Steph, if they’re healthy and they’re cleared, they’ll play. But if they’re not, obviously we’re not going to play them.”
