Zion Williamson Grants EVERY Autograph Request Because He Was Turned Down By Anthony Davis & John Wall As A Kid

It is more than likely that Zion Williamson will be reppin’ Pelicans colors as their number one draft pick, once the new season starts. It is less likely that the team’s current star, Anthony Davis, will still be there then.

But, the Anthony Davis – Zion Williamson relationship has a past only Zion knows about. When he was a kid, Zion had his wish for a signature from Anthony Davis and John Wall rejected. The disappointment stuck with him until today.

During his time at Duke, Williamson made a point to sign every single autograph request by every kid, because he doesn’t want to hurt the kids in a way he was hurt by Davis and Wall.

“When I was little, I looked up to high school players, and I would want their autograph. And sometimes I couldn’t get it, and I’d just be hurt. I said when I grew up, I don’t want to be like that. I want to be able to sign every kid’s autograph — no matter how long it takes me …

“I try to sign every kid’s autograph because I don’t want to turn a little kid down because I know it’ll hurt them. It hurt me. Anthony Davis, John Wall turned me down, so I try to sign everybody’s.”
